Hey everybody the "isolationist" cd has finally been released. Checkout the details here
www.isounderscore.com
Brandon who runs isounderscore wrote a great write up for the cd that you can read at the above website as well.. Order the cd while you can they are going pretty fast, and i am super happy with this release, my favorite so far. The art is also impossible to represent online the color of the art work is to neon to show up correctly on most monitors so you will have to see it in person, not to mention the really awesome spot varnish that is invisible unless viewed up close.........Good times all around.

New releases, and new tour!
Just finished all the artwork for my new cd "isolationist" which will be coming out in october thanks to the wonderful isounderscore label out of San Francisco..The cd is two tracks off of the very limited release of painless, which was originally released on students of decay, plus one new track, all of which were mastered my Thomas Dimuzio..I will be doing a short westcoast tour to support the cd including a record release show in s.f. on the 30th of oct.
The recording and soon the mastering for the foxy digitalis cd will also soon be finished. The cd took me over a year to produce, and after a few minor set backs will be seeing the light of day either sometime later this year or early next year..I have a tour in the works to support this cd as well, it will be a canadian, midwest, and eastcoast tour sometime in the spring or early summer.

reviews that ive found
from last fm Acre - Candyflipping
This album is just epic, in every sense of the word. Bubbling buzzing sinewave sounds ebb along before finally coalescing into a huge mass of chords that just blows you off your feet. Repeat that process three times and you have "Candyflipping".
from unconscious repeat blog...
From Honey Owens' (Valet) Yarnlazer label, comes an all-time great drone record, Acre's Candyflipping. The only other drone full-length I've heard that can compete is Folke Rabe's What??, from 1970, although that one was too intense for me back when I heard it in '05, so I only listened to it twice. Both album's are as subtle as ambient, but far too heavy to meet the "ignorable as it is interesting" criteria--I mean heavy in the sense of undertow, rather than, like, doomy, colon-jamming low-end. That especially goes for track one on Candyflipping, "Moth". Its textures are unbelievable, and it continues to evolve over its whole length, first picking up force with speedier bass tones around the half-way point and then widening the sound pallette a bit for the climax. A label-making part of my brain wants to call this stuff "power drone": it makes you feel like you're being charged by a current so elemental you can't tell if its healthy or unhealthy. If Kevin Shields heard this, I think he'd probably cry. Sonic Boom would definitely smile...
expressway to my skull had this to say!!
Painless is a 70 minute long drone overload, much more straightforward than the releases I've come across. That, however, doesn't make it any less interesting. Painless is heavy on the layering of his droning synths, well, at least what I make out to be synths, most of which are likely to be of the vintage variety. Most of these untitled tracks begin with a simple cyclical drone which slowly pans back and forth between the speakers. Many more layers are slowly added over the course of twenty minutes (3 of the tracks on Painless are around 20 minutes), the panning picks up in pace until the speakers and your brain are rattling with ecstasy...or terror, depending on your threshold for such music. Painless is a great entry into the ever-widening world of Acre.
i finally got these posted im so lazy usually!!

NEWS!!!!!!!!
I just finished the first acre album..It has taken a really long time. Now i just have to mix everything! All of that will be taking place at the sweet Type foundry studios some time in august with the help of Jeremy romagna who has worked with some really great acts and is in one of Portland´s coolest bands johnny x and the groadies...I dont have a title for the album yet but i can say its going to be released on cd..its about an hour in length so no vinyl this time..vinyl is good for acre singles but to achieve true zone out potential i cant have anyone getting up to flip an lp thats part of some pretentious 6 record set!...hahaha..
Keep an eye out for the album im very happy about it..im not telling anyone who is releasing it yet but will say that im very happy to be working with such a label.
I have also had to postpone a u.s. tour that was going to happen in september which really sucks.. i was looking forward to that big time..just waiting on the album to be finished and getting a release date, hopefully after that an extensive u.s. tour will follow.
